Air Jordan 2

Sneaker History

The Air Jordan 2 is a classic basketball sneaker designed by Bruce Kilgore and first released in 1986 by Nike under Michael Jordan's signature line. The shoe was notable for its unique design elements, including a textured leather upper, a midfoot strap for added support, and a sleek, streamlined silhouette.

The Air Jordan 2 was the first shoe in the Air Jordan line to not feature the iconic Nike Swoosh logo. Instead, the shoe showcased the "Wings" logo, which has since become synonymous with the Air Jordan brand.

The Air Jordan 2 was released in various colorways, with the most notable being the white, black, and red version that Jordan wore during the 1986-87 NBA season. Jordan also wore a special "Italian Stallion" edition during the 1987 Slam Dunk Contest.

Despite its stylish design and innovative features, the Air Jordan 2 was not as commercially successful as its predecessor, the Air Jordan 1. However, it remains an important piece of sneaker history and has since been re-released in various colorways over the years, cementing its status as a beloved classic in the Air Jordan line.
