The Shoe

The New Balance 1700 is one of the lesser known retro running silhouettes from New Balance’s long list of cult favorites and will be making a huge comeback in late January.

This will be another shoe added to a growing list of others that have been created by New Balance and the notorious sneaker collaborator and Kith founder, Ronnie Fieg.

Although not much is known about the finer details of the release, early photos of the sneaker that were posted on Fieg’s Instagram, was all that was needed to get folks excited about the upcoming drop.

Design And Materials

For starters, the 1700 is the quintessential representation of a “dad shoe”. The chunky midsole and upper combination comes together to create a 90’s runner profile that the company has mostly been known for over 3 decades..

Another common aspect of the New Balance design , is the use of premium materials which are used on this shoe upper.

Known for his smart use of colors not commonly found on athletic shoes, Ronnie Fieg takes full advantage of the 1700 canvas and has done an outstanding job with another classic New Balance silhouette.

The shoe’s upper looks to be made mostly of high-quality pigskin suede that comes in a variety of colors. Just about every suede panel on the shoe includes a varying shade of blue, black, burgundy, or yellow.

Make no mistake about it, true fans of NB and Fieg are desperately waiting in cut for a chance to purchase this sneaker when it releases.

Release and Resell Predictions

Make no mistake about it, true fans of NB and Fieg collabs are desperately waiting in cut for a chance to purchase this sneaker when it releases.

As far as the release, the shoes should drop exclusively on Kith’s website and in one of their brick and mortar stores.

When it comes to the price, you can expect to pay anywhere anywhere between $180 to $220 dollars for the shoe.

Stock on the shoe will be limited so you can expect the shoe to sell-out first day or at least within the first week after the release.
