Sneaker Quality:
aj1 “travis scott” materials
Nike clearly wanted to give this collab shoe the “premium” treatment. The leather and suede are about as good as we’ve seen on any recent Jordan 1. In addition to top-notch materials, added detail elements such as the hidden stash pocket and subtle “Catcus Jack” branding separates this shoe from all other AJ1 releases.
aj1 “travis scott” construction
With so many nuanced details on this shoe, I was honestly expecting there to be a lot of sub-par elements with regards to construction on this shoe, but that simply was not the case on my pair. There were no glaring flaws such as glue stains around the midsole, and all of the stitching was clean throughout.
Fit & Comfort:
aj1 “travis scott” sizing
When it comes to sizing, most people can go true to size with Jordan 1s, but those who prefer a snug fit may also choose to go down half a size. I’m generally a 12 in most Nike shoes, but I like to wear an 11.5 in Air Jordan 1s to minimize toe-box creasing.
aj1 “travis scott” comfort
Since this is technically a 1985 shoe, there won’t be much to rave about with regards to this sneaker’s comfort. It’s not the most comfortable shoe on the market, but far from the worst.
Overall, the cushioning and flexibility are minimal with these shoes, so I would hardly recommend anyone wear these while being active for any significant period.
However, on a more positive note, if traction is important to you, know that these shoes have the best traction on any shoe, new or old.
Style & Value:
aj1 “travis scott” wearability
With it’s over-sized reversed swoosh, multiple lace options, and brown-ish, earthy look, this shoe is polarizing yet intriguing. Step out with a pair of these on your feet and you will definitely turn heads.
Putting together outfits with the shoe won’t be extremely difficult either. A simple jean and solid t-shirt combo works while you let the sneakers do all the talking.
aj1 “travis scott“ price
When it comes to value, the shoe has a higher price-tag than normal GR Air Jordan 1 releases, but in this case it’s warranted. With resell prices well into the quadruple digits in most sizes, if you snagged this pair for retail, consider it the deal of a lifetime.
