Initial Impressions:

Here are a few of my initial thoughts after unboxing this New Balance 997 “Trifecta”. A full written review of this shoe will be posted after I’ve had more time to analyze the shoe.

• I’ve had my eyes on this sneaker for almost a year. I came across a few good deals, but none as good as Hibbett’s. Paying $55 shipped for a sneaker that retails for $210 proves that it pays to be patient.

• I’m going to have to research and buy a new suede cleaner because I know these will be tough to keep clean. If you know of a good product please email me and let me know.

• The additional colored-logos that come with this shoe are are legit. They’re easy take off and put back on. Also, they’re sturdy which means they should holdup for a long time.

• At first glance, it seems to be a narrower shoe than the New Balance 998 that I’m accustomed to wearing, but it surprisingly didn’t feel that much different.

• The materials are top-notch like always, but around the heel area the cut of the suede and the stitching was a bit janky. I’m kind of shocked because I’ve never had a pair of USA made New Balance that were flawed in this way.
