The Jordan 11 Low IE is a retro basketball shoe from Jordan Brand that originally release back in the Summer of 1996 and designed by Tinker Hatfield.
Compared to its mid-cut sibling, the Low IE’s upper design differs greatly in that it doesn’t include the iconic patent leather mudguard. If you’ve ever been confused as to why, here’s Hatfield’s explanation as to what inspired the IE’s design…
“I felt like [patent leather] was contrary to the summer feel. The shoe didn’t need to feel so stiff and heavy. For the summer, I wanted something that was lighter and easier to wear.”
With this upcoming 2020 iteration, Jordan Brand is taking the silhouette another step forward by giving it the “Black Cement” 3 makeover.
