In this post, weβll take a closer look at the New Balance 998 βCaribbeanβ. This is a βMade in the USAβ retro runner that features colors found in the beautiful island landscape.
Unboxing Video:
βWhen I look at these, I just think about the beach. The blue being the water and the peachy-beige color being the sand. Staring at these makes me want to go on a βCaribbeanβ getaway.β
Initial Impressions:
Here are a few of my initial thoughts after unboxing this 998 βCaribbeanβ. A more detailed review will be available after I spend more time with the shoe.
The colorway on these joints are legit. Iβm a fan of New Balance and there commitment to creating unique colorways that you just donβt get from other brands.

Iβm not a huge fan of the way New Balance chooses to stuff their sneakers with paper instead of using paper shoe trees. The toebox on this shoe wasnβt effected as much, but others have come misshape.
I donβt think Iβve ever mentioned it, but I love the look of the laces that are used in the 998s. I wish New Balance made more colors available for sale on their website.
Where To Buy:
I was able to find these for a good deal on Hibbett.com just a few days before Black Friday. If youβre interesting in purchasing a pair, click the button below to see if they still have the size youβre looking for.
