My Initial Impressions
When it comes to sneakers, these are the pinnacle for me. The moment I saw photos of them, I knew they were a “definite buy”. They tick every box in terms of quality, design, and comfort, and they’ll hold a special spot in my collection.
Before getting these, I had my eyes on them for months. However, waiting proved beneficial as I absolutely adore this pair. The masterful selection and use of colors and materials reflect Teddy Santis’ design philosophy, which is timeless, refined, and perfectly aligns with my style.

Sneakers like the 990v2, crafted in the Boston, Massachusetts factory, rank among the top-quality shoes in the market today. Many common quality issues, such as glue marks and subpar stitching, which often affect other brands produced outside the US, are almost unheard of in New Balance’s 'Made' series.
My pair arrived in flawless condition. There were no quality mishaps on any shoe. The stitching was clean, and every suede section was impeccable right from the box, free from any imperfections or discolorations.

Once more, New Balance has incorporated some of the finest suede and mesh materials on this athletic sneaker, but that's hardly a surprise now.
Plush Suede: The primary exterior showcases navy blue suede panels that are both visually stunning and tactile. A simple swipe of the finger over the shoe reveals the suede's color-changing quality, indicating its high grade.
Breathable Mesh: The lighter blue mesh segments beautifully contrast with the navy suede, giving the shoe an aesthetic appeal while also ensuring lightweight breathability and comfort.
This mesh, paired with the suede, isn't just visually pleasing but is also uniquely soft, setting it apart from the mesh on many contemporary running shoes.

How Does The New Balance 990v2 Fit?
The New Balance 990v2 fits roomy from a length and width perspective when going true-to-size and for this reason, I like to go a half-size down to an 11.5 from my normal 12.
I personally have a slightly wider foot and prefer a more snug and secure fit when buying sneakers, so going with 11.5 works perfectly for me and allows me to wear them loosely laced with no heel slippage.
