Release Guide: New Balance 990v1 “Macadamia”
Teddy Santis And New Balance Back Again With Another 990v1 Colorway For 2022!
Over the course of a few years, New Balance has solidified itself as a brand that younger sneakerheads can no longer ignore and pass off as “old people” shoes. The Boston-based brand has done so by releasing a variety of new and trendy silhouettes but also staying strongly committed to the brand’s “Made in the Us” heritage models, as well.

Here in 2022, that fact continues to reign true as New Balance has decided to team up with ALD founder, Teddy Santis, to create a plethora of new colorways within the classic 990 lineups. For the first week of July, we can expect the swanky “Macadamia” colorway to hit retail shelves this Summer.
What Materials Are On The Shoe?
Upper: When it comes down to materials, you’re going to be hard-pressed to find any sneaker from any brand that has the quality that New Balance offers with its “Made in the US” series sneakers. Although I haven’t held this pair in hand, I can say with confidence that the long-haired suede and mesh materials found on this “Macadamia” releases will be nothing short of mind-blowing. In addition, the black leather hits add visual and functional contrast to the overall neutral shoe.
Midsole: As far as the midsole, you’ll find New Balance’s proprietary cushioning technology that still offers a great mix of cushioning, stability, and flexibility that the Boston-based shoe manufacturer is known for.
What Colors Are On The Shoes?
If you’re a fan of low-key refinement when it comes to sneakers, then this pair is right up your alley. The smart execution and placement of neutral tones that are contrasted by hits of black come together to create a grown and sexy look in my opinion.
Upper: The shoe features panels of cream and macadamia suede panels that are matched with the cream mesh that adds breathability to the shoe. Also appearing on the upper are the black hits of leather that make up the “N” logo and back heel panel.
Midsole: The midsole features the same light cream color found on the shoe’s upper but also adds a darker shade of black around the heal portion, completing the look even more.
Release Date And Pricing
The New Balance 990v1 "Macadamia" is set to drop on July 7, 2022, for a retail price of $190 on NewBalance.com and at select retailers. New Balance’s like these have been a pain to cop these days, but if you strike out on release day, these may still be worth a cop on the resell market.

In the past, New Balance sneakers like these would be a fairly easy cop for manual buyers, but times have changed.
Although it’s hard to gauge demand for this pair, I would still expect them to be a fairly tough cop online due to bots.
If you still want to test your luck on release day, I suggest getting to the website about 30 minutes before release to beat the queue.
Drops usually take up to 30 minutes so cross all fingers and toes for good luck.

Getting a manual “W” will be extremely difficult, so the best advice I can give would be for you to have your Nike SNKRS account ready to go ahead of the release by adding your payment and shipping info ahead of time.
Because this pair will most likely be released via a draw, you will have 10 minutes to enter, but don’t wait. Some releases cause the app to crash, leaving less time for entry.
Good luck!

Check with your local sneaker boutiques to see if these will be carried in-store.
My guess is that there won’t be many stores, if any, getting these.

Generally speaking, the New Balance 990v1 fits comfortably at true-to-size or maybe even a tad long.
I personally wear a US12 in most sneakers, but I opt to go down a half-size in the 990v1. This is mainly because I like to wear my shoes untied and doing so reduces heel slippage.
