Initial Impressions:
Here are a few of my initial thoughts after unboxing this 2020 Air Max 90 OG “Volt”. A full written review of this shoe will be posted after I’ve had more time to analyze the shoe.
It had been a little over a decade since I had last purchased a pair Air Max 90s. I had lost interest in the silhouette do to the updated shape, but the remastered version peaked my interest.
I really love the color-blocking of the “Hyper Grape” and that goes for the other OG colorways too. The hits of color are perfectly placed and not overdone.
I love the “low-cut” paneling on the OG Hyper Grapes compared to the “high-cut” on the newer retro model. The thinner panel gives the shoe a much sleeker and better look in my opinion. It’s amazing how a subtle change can make a HUGE difference in a shoe’s overall shape and look. When it comes to any type of design, the details do matter.
I had forgotten just how comfortable the Air Max 90 is. As soon as I put my foot in the sneaker, my mind went back to my high-school and college days when these were my go-to casual shoes.
I usually go down a half-size in my New Balance shoes, but these Nike’s definitely fit more true-to-size (TTS).
Where To Buy:

Fortunately, I was able to purchase a Men’s pair from END. clothing which is a European retailer. At the time that I’m writing this, there has been no word on when Men’s pairs will be released here in the US.
